The Editors
DANIEL MCMAHON, editor of CyclingReporter.com, has a passion for local and international bike racing. He first took out a license with the USCF while in high school in Chicago and cut his teeth racing criteriums in the Midwest, competing in many of the region’s cycling events, including Superweek and the National Criterium Championships. He spent two seasons riding in Ireland with a small club, Emyvale C.C., with whom he took part in many amateur races and twice competed in the International Cycling Week in the Isle of Man. Following a few years off the bike, he returned to racing and moved to Nice, France, where he rode for a year with development team Sprinter Club de Nice. After a break from racing of almost 10 years, he discovered the robust competitive cycling scene in New York City and joined the Kissena Cycling Club in 2009. He lives in Brooklyn and competes in road and cyclocross races in the region.
IAN LANDAU is a contributing editor and lives in Brooklyn, New York. Ian’s a familiar face at road and cyclocross races up and down the East Coast.
GENE DOUGHERTY is a contributing editor and can tell you a lot about why steel frames still rock. After years of racing on the Illinois plains, crit after crit after crit, he moved to New Mexico, where he lives with his family in Los Alamos. He spends a lot of time going uphill these days and still gets into a race or two when he’s not working on new tunes with his band.
