Van Dessel reports improved sales
New Jersey’s Star Ledger and NJ.com today ran a story online about local small bike manufacturer Van Dessel, a company that cyclocross racers everywhere know well.
Van Dessel owner Edwin Bull was quoted as saying that although business from November through April “was awful … summer was very good and in the fall, we always do well. July was the biggest July we’ve ever had.”
Added Bull: “Our frames are all stock. We design them, and they’re made for us in Taiwan. What makes our bikes different than some others is that ours are built to order. The fit to the bike is specific to the person getting it. This time of year, nine out of 10 bikes that we sell are cyclo-cross bikes.”
